I am a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice and an Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist. I’m board-certified in Critical Care by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties. I completed post-graduate residencies in pharmacy practice and critical care at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center and University Hospital San Antonio, respectively. These residencies allowed me to develop my research skills, medical writing, editing, and patient care skills. I spend my days either in the emergency department caring for patients and collaborating with other healthcare professionals or teaching pharmacy students at Texas A&M College of Pharmacy. I have many opportunities to be multi-faceted each day. I enjoy the research aspects of my positions and I am passionate about teaching. Some of my favorite educational topics are active learning strategies, student engagement, and writing clear and concise exam questions. I have worked on a number of different research and quality improvement projects, from implementation of pharmacy services in the emergency department to medical content review and everything in between. I have extensive experience in peer review of educational material, from presentations, lectures, and exam questions. At Texas A&M we have two campus sites which allows for ample distance learning opportunities and has given me extensive knowledge and experience in the area.
