Britney T.
College Admissions Mentor and Consultant, UT Austin Alum
Students I have worked with have been accepted to: The University of Texas at Austin (Cockrell School of Engineering, McCombs School of Business, College of Natural Sciences, Moody College of Communications), Texas A&M University, Baylor University, Rice University, Columbia University, the University of California, Los Angeles, the University of California, Berkely, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and SUNY Korea I am a college admissions consultant passionate about helping high school students navigate the extensive (and often stressful) college application process. I have experience with: -Mentoring students through the college application process and revised essays at a non-profit organization -Organizing and hosting writing workshops to help students develop college-level writing skills -Serving as a writing consultant to assist university students with their coursework and applications -Presenting comprehensive overviews of the college application process to parents and their students I enjoy working with high school seniors as they journey through college applications. I will help students with anything ranging from: -Determining their application goals -Organizing their applications and deadlines -Revising and editing their essays -Providing virtual advising and writing consulting My clients are guaranteed to receive: -Fast turnaround times (especially if you have an upcoming deadline) -Detailed and personalized feedback on your essays -Encouraging mentorship and advice from a young, recent graduate I also mentor high school freshman, sophomores, and juniors as they think ahead and prepare to eventually apply to college! This includes: - Searching for and applying to scholarships and summer programs - Creating lists of potential colleges to apply to - Advising on extracurricular and course selection I believe that writing isn't something that you have to be inherently talented at. With consistent practice (and the right person in your corner), you can use your writing as the ultimate form of self-expression. I am trained in providing non-directive, non-evaluative writing consulting, which means that we will work side by side to make your writing the best that it can be. I will be there to guide you through every step of your writing process, which can include: brainstorming ideas for essay prompts, drafting, revising (revising, and more revising!), editing, and proofreading your final essays. In the end, I want YOUR unique voice to shine through, not mine. For More About Me: I recently graduated with high honors from the University of Texas at Austin where I double majored in International Relations and Global Studies and Government. I was also a part of the selective Liberal Arts Honors Program, which heavily emphasizes research and writing skills.
