Kelly H.

Need copy that sounds like it was written by a human—not a machine? Or an experienced editor who can make good writing even better? I can help. I'm a journalist, writer, editor, and communications professional with 20 years of experience creating clear, engaging, accurate content for real audiences. I've built my career around words—finding the right ones, eliminating the unnecessary ones, catching the mistakes others miss, and turning complicated information into copy people actually want to read. I can help with: • Copy editing & proofreading – grammar, punctuation, clarity, consistency, flow, and tone • Content writing – articles, blogs, website copy, marketing materials, newsletters, and feature stories • AI-generated content editing – transforming robotic or generic AI copy into natural, engaging writing • Journalism & fact-checking – research, interviews, source verification, and accurate storytelling • Communications & PR – press releases, media materials, executive messaging, internal communications, and public-facing content • College admissions editing – helping students strengthen essays while preserving their individual voice What I bring to a project isn't simply the ability to write. It's editorial judgment developed over two decades. I know when a sentence needs a comma. I also know when it needs to be rewritten entirely. I know when copy is technically correct but doesn't sound natural. And I know how to make writing clearer and stronger without stripping away the writer's voice. Most importantly, I'm dependable, responsive, deadline-driven, and accustomed to producing polished work in fast-paced professional environments. If you're looking for an experienced writer or editor who will care about the details - and the final product - I'd love to hear about your project.
