Senior Software Engineer | WordPress Plugins, PHP & JavaScript

I help businesses build, extend, and troubleshoot complex web applications — from WordPress plugins and JavaScript-heavy interfaces to custom PHP and eCommerce systems. My particular strength is stepping into unfamiliar codebases, understanding how things work, and solving problems that require more than routine development. What I can help you with: - WordPress Plugin Development: custom features, complex interfaces, plugin architecture, and extending existing products. - JavaScript & PHP Engineering: implementing functionality, debugging, refactoring, and maintaining complex applications. - WordPress Integrations: Gutenberg, Elementor, Divi, WPBakery, and compatibility with third-party themes and plugins. - Magento 2 & eCommerce: custom functionality, integrations, troubleshooting, and maintenance. - Complex Problem Solving: investigating unfamiliar systems, legacy codebases, difficult bugs, and unexpected compatibility issues. Commercial Product Development My recent experience includes working on Slider Revolution 7, a sophisticated commercial WordPress visual editor and animation platform. This work involved developing features, solving complex technical problems, and maintaining compatibility across different WordPress environments, themes, and page builders. Before that, I spent over 5 years working with Magento 2, building and maintaining eCommerce functionality and integrations. Beyond the Web Stack My engineering background extends beyond PHP and JavaScript. I've developed a 3D underwater vehicle simulation using C++ and OpenGL, and worked with Python and Hugging Face while exploring image generation functionality. I've also worked with technologies ranging from Pascal and Delphi to lower-level programming. I don't claim to be an expert in every language or framework. Instead, I've spent much of my career adapting to unfamiliar technologies and becoming productive in complex systems. Modern Development Approach I actively use AI-assisted development tools, including Claude Code and OpenAI Codex, to accelerate research, implementation, and debugging — while taking responsibility for architecture, verification, and code quality. I value clear communication, maintainable solutions, and understanding the root cause of a problem rather than just patching its symptoms. Have a challenging technical problem or an unfamiliar codebase that needs attention? Let's discuss it.
