Adam W.

I build, modernise and maintain iOS apps in Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit and Objective-C for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS. I also build and support all the backend services that go with an app, including Push Notifications, APIs, Authentication & Subscriptions with AWS, Firebase and services such as RevenueCat. I’m Adam, a Senior Developer & Apple Platform Engineer based in the UK, with 15+ years of experience building native Apple applications and the backend services that support them. I’m particularly experienced with existing applications — understanding unfamiliar codebases, fixing difficult problems, modernising older code, implementing new features and getting apps successfully through App Store Connect and into production. Expertise: ✅ Swift - SwiftUI - UIKit - Objective-C ✅ iOS - iPadOS - tvOS - macOS - watchOS ✅ App Store Connect - App Review ✅ RevenueCat - StoreKit - In-App Purchases & Subscriptions ✅ REST APIs - SQLite - Core Data - SwiftData ✅ AWS - Firebase - Backend Services & APIs ✅ Git - Jira - Testing - Debugging - Production Release & Support I also bring a broader software engineering background spanning web, enterprise and backend systems, including Java, SQL, Oracle, and Unix. I've worked professionally across Defence, Government, Health and Finance. I hold a degree in Computing from Edinburgh Napier University; I am a TOGAF-certified enterprise architect; and I have professional certifications in Java Programming and Oracle Database. Good software engineering isn't just about technical skills. It's also about clear communication, a focus on delivery, excellent problem-solving and a willingness to learn. Whether you need help with an existing application, a new feature, a difficult technical problem, or a new app from the ground up, please get in touch. If I were to summarise — I'd say, I love making things work.
