Samantha S.

I am an Assistant Professor of Criminology and Sociology at The University of Arizona. I received my Ph.D. in Sociology from The University of Texas at Austin and my bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania. I offer two areas of consulting expertise: (1) First, I have expertise in helping students, colleagues, and clients develop written materials as part of their application for undergraduate and graduate academic programs. In addition to my experience crafting these materials for my own academic journey, I also have years of experience serving on graduate admissions committees. Collectively, I have extensive experience with both crafting and evaluating admissions materials. (2) Second, I have an expertise in helping parents develop and refine their parent statements for their children’s schools. I know the process of creating parent statements can be stressful, especially while raising kids and working. Drawing on my experience with admissions generally and with private clients, I provide assistance with initial brainstorming, organization, personalization, and editing.
