My name is Bernard van Hoven, I am a full time professional Sound Engineer from South Africa. I specialize in audio editing, mixing, mastering, sound design and audio cleanup and I am passionate about what I do. I have a diploma in music technology from Emendy Multimedia Technology Institute. I primarily work in audio postproduction as a Final Mix Engineer in which I have about 5 years experience on a variety of post jobs. I have worked on a project that won the award for Best Documentary at the South African Film and Television Awards. (Yes, I didn't personally win for best sound, but it definitely helped us win!) What I do: -Audio Editing for documentaries, reality tv, podcasts, audiobooks, advertising content etc. -Mixing & Mastering with relevant loudness metering (EBU R128, ACX, streaming etc.) -Audio Production -Noise Reduction -Sound Effects & Foley -Music Production & Composition -Field Recording Communicating and revising until the work is great is important to me. I am happy to do short demos. I do loudness analysis for all my work to ensure optimal loudness levels for all the different sites and outlets available. I am proficient in most broadcasting specs and streaming site requirements, and can easily adjust to meet any parameter targets necessary.
