Hi there! My name is Shane, and I’m a writer with more than 8 years worth of publishing experience in both fiction and non-fiction. I’m a ghostwriter and editor with a passion for atmospheric books that, at their core, make the heart sing or pound. I like to entice visceral reactions in my personal work, and endeavour to bring that to my professional work (within boundaries of each client's requirements, of course!) I love casting fresh eyes over an existing, brilliant project (and I have never worked with any manuscript that hasn't blown me away, and I've built great working relationships through my passion of that work), but I also love working with a fully blank page where endless things can happen. My experience across the romance genre in both editing and writing includes: Regency, Dark and Light Contemporary alike, LGBTQ+, Horror, Paranormal, Mafia, Fantasy, Western (editorially) In non-fiction, I have worked in B2B, B2C, and was the features editor of two trade magazines in the UK for more than a year for H2O Publishing under a different name of Bryony Reid. Furthermore, I have worked with clients through freelancing, working to develop informative romance books (such as love language theory, and dating 101s). When I’m not working, I'm often buried in my to-be-read book pile, finding inspiration as well as enjoying the typical tropes that bring the romance world to life. My personal works have been featured in several literary journals including two Cozy Library Corner Press (CLC Press) anthologies, Best Served Cold zine, Engendered Literary, Drip Lit magazine, and the Icarus Collective. I have also worked as a prose editor for CLC Press. I also write poetry, short stories, and love inclusive casts. As part of the LGBTQ+ community, I pride myself on finding stories that highlight characters like me, and I’d love to find work that centres around this too!
