John D.
Creative Media Executive
I'm a prolific creative in media, blending storytelling, music and pop culture in unconventional ways. With a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Florida, an MBA in Marketing from Vanderbilt, and MA studies in Communications at Fordham University, I've shaped television, radio, print and podcast content. As the creator of Blind Date (MTV/Universal/Bravo - over 500 episodes) and VIBE TV (Quincy Jones’ Qwest TV), I've developed programming, produced and hosted shows for CBS, ABC, FOX Family, and Mello TV/Jamaica. A trailblazer in radio, I've launched, programmed, marketed and performed on a dozen Hip Hop stations in the U.S and the Caribbean, including current MORE 94.9/Nassau, Bahamas. Podcast host/producer experience includes helming "The Come Up" (business) and "Unsigned Grind" (music). I've worked as an ad agency producer, managing cutting-edge Hip by Association and Trend Influence programs for Hakuhodo/New York, KBA/Los Angeles and National/Miami. In those roles, I also produced experiential events, concerts, trade shows, sports events and pageants. I created a picture book, "Rock n' Soul", wrote the business book, "Tariff Hustle", and scribed three music books: Reggaeton for Gringos, J Balvin bio and Karol G bio. A former LA Weekly entertainment columnist and Pulse Music Magazine contributor, I continue to push creative boundaries, redefining pop culture and music storytelling across media. Let's collaborate!
