I'm Gloria, a professional Beta Reader and Editor with a particular love for horror, psychological thrillers, suspense, and stories that leave readers questioning everything they thought they knew. While my editing journey has included plenty of contemporary and dark romance, I've found myself increasingly drawn to the darker side of fiction. The slow-building dread, unreliable narrators, complicated characters, and unexpected twists are what keep me turning pages long past my bedtime. Naturally, those are the stories I'm most excited to help authors bring to life. That doesn't mean I've left romance behind! I still enjoy a good love story and welcome romance projects, particularly those with strong emotional depth, complex relationships, and compelling character development. However, I am no longer accepting manuscripts that contain explicit/open-door spicy scenes. What can you expect when working with me? When I beta read or edit, I focus on how your story feels to a reader. I'm looking at the moments that pull me in, the questions that keep me reading, and the places where the story might lose its grip. For horror and thrillers, that means paying close attention to tension, atmosphere, suspense, pacing, character motivations, plot twists, and whether those big reveals actually deliver. Does the dread build naturally? Are the clues there without giving too much away? Does the ending leave readers satisfied, unsettled, or maybe a little bit of both? For romance, I'm looking at emotional connection, believable relationships, character growth, and whether the story delivers the emotional payoff readers are hoping for. You'll receive thoughtful inline comments that capture my genuine reactions as I read, along with a detailed Reader Report and actionable feedback highlighting what works, what doesn't quite land, and where your story has room to grow. My approach is supportive, but honest. As a lifelong reader, writer, and mom who understands just how precious creative time can be, I know how vulnerable it feels to share something you've poured your heart into. My goal is never to rewrite your story into something I would have written. It's to help you make your story the strongest version of itself. I'll celebrate the moments that work, question the ones that don't, and tell you when something isn't hitting quite the way you intended. Always with kindness, honesty, and respect for your voice.
