I design and build websites, web apps, and interactive 3D for small businesses, and I handle both the design and the code myself. Due to this, you work with one person from the first sketch to the finished code (and you have one phone number for questions). All of my work is live at jwm.nyc/work. 1. Websites and Online Stores I build on WordPress, Shopify, or Webflow, or I code the site from scratch when none of those platforms fits the design. The finished site is one that your own team can update without calling a developer. I also connect the services a business runs on, such as Stripe and PayPal for payments, Printful for print-on-demand products, and Memberstack for member accounts. 2. Custom Web Apps I turn a process that a business currently runs on a spreadsheet into a web app that does the work for them. This includes order forms, quoting systems, dashboards, calculators, and schedulers, which I write in JavaScript and React and build around the way your people already work. The effect of this is that nobody needs retraining when the app launches. 3. Interactive 3D I build product configurators, games, and 3D scenes in Three.js and WebGL. They run in any browser, including on a phone, without a download. My background is in aeronautical engineering and formal 3D training, and this makes both the modeling and the math familiar ground. 4. Product and UX Design I've spent ten years as a product designer across fintech, healthcare, and gaming, and I have run more than one hundred usability sessions. I was the first designer at a fintech startup, where the brand and product work I did helped the company raise $30M. In my opinion, this is the part most developers skip: I start with how people actually use the product, and only then do I start writing code. Regarding how I work, I quote a fixed price up front and I include two rounds of revisions. You review working pages early instead of static mockups, and at the end you own the code, the design files, and the accounts.
