Osborne C.
Chichewa Translator
I am a Chichewa Language Specialist offering the following services: Chichewa language lessons, translation between English and Chichewa, and proofreading. Below is a brief overview of my experience: In 2024, I worked with the U.S. Embassy (Malawi) as a freelance Chichewa-to-English translator and transcriber. In the same year, I worked for The Language Shop (UK) as a freelance Chichewa translator and examiner under a UK Ministry of Defence project. My responsibilities included translating reading and listening exams from English to Chichewa and serving as a Chichewa examiner for Ministry delegates. In 2022, I provided video translation and subtitling services for the United Nations Environment Programme. The video, in Chichewa, was an interview with Cyclone Freddy victims. You can find the video on UNEPs Youtube channel Since 2018, I have been working with the U.S. Peace Corps as a Language and Culture Facilitator specializing in Chichewa. I hold a 100% trainee pass rate in Chichewa proficiency. These are some of the major projects I have worked on, among others. Let's get in touch!
