Tessa B.

I have a postgraduate degree in English Language teaching and have an excellent knowledge of grammar, vocabulary, spelling and punctuation. I can proofread a wide range of documents efficiently and effectively. From working in education for over 10 years, I am very accustomed to the duties of planning, delivering and teaching individual students, small groups and whole classes. I have written whole subject curriculums, lessons plans and resources. I have worked as Head of department in my last two roles (Head of EAL and Head of Literacy), I have worked as the Head of EAL within the English department of a secondary school for over 6 years. From starting the department and developing our work with EAL students we have continued to make outstanding progress with our key students. I have created a large bank of learning resources that have been used by a number of schools and departments that compliment the UK curriculum with accessible and engaging activities. From both the making and maintaining of effective EAL resources and implementing strategies to successfully integrate new EAL student into the school, the department continues to be an effective system for the school.
