I have 25 years of academic and industry experience. Although trained in internal medicine and pathology, I largely remained focused on basic cell biology as it applies to disease states. My work has led to the isolation and identification of rare circulating fetal and tumor cells, currently in development by EarlyCell, Inc. I was responsible for the development and commercialization of several histochemical kits currently used in cancer detection. Originally from the former Soviet Georgia, I spent over a decade working in Israel at the Weizmann Institute and in industry. My positions in industry include Head Research and Development, Zetiq Ltd, CEO of Prescient Pharma LLC. Recently I was working on R&D (preclinical studies), patenting and obtaining Orphan Drug Designation from the FDA for investigational new drug for Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. I have experience writing grant applications (National Science Foundation).
