Maria Montserrat B.

Hi, I’m Mon — a Spanish language instructor, academic research writer and editor based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. As a Spanish teacher I have over 10 years of experience working with both native speakers and international students. My teaching approach is student-centered and adaptive: I design all pedagogical materials according to each learner’s interests, goals, and curiosity, because I strongly believe that language learning is most effective when it is rooted in motivation and personal engagement. I hold a BA in Language and Literature from the Universidad de Buenos Aires and I am currently conducting doctoral research in Literature at the same institution with the support of a CONICET research grant. Alongside my academic training, I have extensive experience as an academic research writer and editor, working on research papers, academic reviews, textbooks, and practice materials. I specialize in transforming drafts and working-level texts into clear, well-organized, research-grade documents, with careful attention to argumentation, structure, academic tone, and proper citation practices. In addition, I work extensively with fiction writing and editing. I write original fiction and also edit, revise, and develop fiction written by others, providing structural editing, stylistic revision, line editing, and careful feedback on voice, narrative coherence, and rhythm. My literary training allows me to respect each author’s voice while strengthening clarity, flow, and expressive precision. Finally, I am also an artist and director. Since 2018, I have been developing my artistic project 《Archivo Bataclánico》 which draws on archival materials from my academic research to explore the intersection of art, performance, and science. I have directed several plays and performances, and I continue to train in acting, painting, and dance. This artistic practice informs my sensitivity to language, voice, and narrative across all my work.
