FPGA & RTL Design Engineer | RISC-V, Verilog/VHDL, ASIC Verification
I design and verify digital hardware that has to work the first time RTL for FPGAs and ASICs, custom IP cores, and the embedded firmware that sits on top of it. Recent work includes building a RISC-V processor core from scratch (AtlasRV32) and developing custom I2C IP for FPGA targets in VHDL. I currently work as an Application Engineer in Siemens' VLSI/CMOS power analysis group, so my RTL and verification habits are shaped by production tooling (Questasim, Design Compiler, PowerPro), not just coursework. I also build the embedded and industrial-control layer around hardware ESP32/STM32 firmware, sensor and motor integration, and PLC ladder logic (EasySoft, TIA Portal) for automation sequences. What I deliver: - RTL design & verification (SystemVerilog, VHDL, Verilog) with waveform-level documentation - Custom IP cores: I2C, SPI, AXI, Avalon - FPGA implementation (Xilinx, Intel/Altera) and ASIC flow support - Embedded firmware (ESP32/ESP-IDF, STM32 HAL/LL, Raspberry Pi) - PLC ladder logic for automation and safety sequences Clear documentation, simulation waveforms, and clean handoff on every project I'll tell you up front if something's out of scope rather than guess.
