AI systems and business software My work focuses on bringing AI into day-to-day business operations. Each project starts with understanding how the process works today and where automation can help. From there, I take responsibility for the application as a whole, including how people use it and review its results. A workflow in practice A recent project brings those pieces together in an AI-assisted quotation platform. Incoming requests become structured data, which is matched against a service catalog before reaching the ERP. Pricing and publication follow server-side rules, with human review where required. Operators use a web interface; authorized AI assistants access the same workflow through MCP. MCP architecture and access control The MCP layer is a substantial part of that engineering. Tool inputs need validation, access needs a defined scope, and operations need a record that can be inspected later. In this system, OAuth-aware tools connect assistants to a persistent workflow with an audit history. The application retains control over what can be executed. Model integration and document processing Function calling, Structured Outputs, and JSON Schema provide the contracts between the model and the backend. Application-level checks handle the business rules. For document-heavy tasks, extraction pipelines and semantic retrieval supply relevant context and preserve source evidence for review. Workflow execution and delivery Once a workflow spans several services, execution becomes another concern. My work covers parallel processing and concurrency limits, with persistent state and retries so failures can be investigated and work can resume. The surrounding application includes the operator interface and cloud deployment. Technical stack Python and TypeScript are my main languages. The stack includes FastAPI, Next.js and React, PostgreSQL/Supabase, and Docker on Google Cloud with CI/CD. For AI integration, I work with MCP, OpenAI, Gemini, OpenRouter, and the Vercel AI SDK. Education and further work Alongside my professional work, I am completing Intelligent Systems Engineering at UIE in A Coruña, with an academic excellence scholarship and Dean's List recognition. Academic and personal projects extend into machine learning, portfolio optimization, and computer vision with robotics.
