I’m a BS Biology graduate with a major in Cellular and Organismal Biology, equipped with both theoretical knowledge and practical lab experience in genetics, microbiology, and bioinformatics, among other fields. My undergraduate thesis — an in-silico sequence analysis of /Blastocystis/ subtypes (a gut protist) in Southeast Asia — allowed me to explore the intersection of genetics and microbiology using bioinformatics tools such as BLAST, GenBank, ClustalW, and DNAsp. In our systematics and evolution lab, I also worked with DAMBE, PAUP, and TreeView for phylogenetic analysis. I’ve trained in a wide range of lab techniques during coursework, from microscopy and aseptic technique to dissecting animal cadavers and handling common experimental setups in biology and chemistry, including solution/sample prep, titration, and biological staining. These experiences shaped my strong attention to detail and appreciation for structured, hands-on work in the biological sciences. Such experiences also made me realize that I love learning by doing. I’m passionate about using science to serve people — especially in communities that often get overlooked. I hope to grow professionally in research, healthcare, or diagnostic settings, where I can contribute to meaningful work while gaining real-world experience.
