Richard M.
Architect
With just shy of a decade in the field of architecture, I stand as a seasoned professional who has not only witnessed the evolution of the industry but has actively contributed to it. Three years ago, I attained the distinction of a licensed professional, marking a significant professional and personal milestone. Driven by ambition, I made the move from the baren tundra of North Dakota to the heart of New York City. Among the towering skyscrapers and walking the legendary streets, I embraced the challenge of competing on the global architectural stage. Currently, I hold a position with one of the largest and most influential international architecture practices, spanning 38 offices worldwide. Over the past two years, I have undergone intensive mentorship and training, preparing to step into the role of a Project Architect. This role has seen me coordinate expansive teams of consultants and collaborate with fellow architecture teams, including those from notable woman-owned minority lead businesses. My journey is a testament to the belief that great architecture requires not only technical prowess but a deep understanding of clients' visions and aspirations. I firmly believe that as a Project Architect, the success of a project hinges on the synergy between client and architect. Hence, my commitment lies in prioritizing and amplifying the desires and needs of my clients above personal ambitions. In pursuit of further creative autonomy, I am venturing into freelancing, aiming to build a personal portfolio that reflects my unique design abilities. This marks a pivotal step towards my ultimate goal – to step out as a sole practitioner, bringing my own architectural dreams to life My contributions to the field have not gone unnoticed, as evidenced by multiple awards and accolades from both peers and superiors. Each recognition serves as a testament to my dedication to excellence and my unwavering commitment to elevating the fabric of our built environment As I continue to shape the built environment on a global scale, I remain anchored in the belief that architecture is a collaborative art, where success is measured not only by design brilliance but by the fulfillment of clients' dreams and aspirations.
