Whether you're a novice or an experienced writer, I can help! I am a certified proofreader and a member of the Chartered Institute for Editors and Proofreaders. After spending years decoding the secrets of life as a Geneticist, I now use my detail-oriented brain to decode and perfect your writing. Whether it's an academic paper, romance novel, blog post, or sci-fi manuscript, I’m here to ensure your words are as clear and precise as they can be. *Member of the CIEP (Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading) *Certified proofreader *BSc (First Class Honours) Genetics *I can complete approx. 1000 words an hour, depending on the type of writing. * 5-star reviews, check out what my clients say about me! As a New Zealander who regularly sees and uses both major flavours of English, I'm equally proficient in US and UK grammar, spelling, and punctuation. I can work with your style guide and dictionary of choice, as I'm familiar with all the major style guides from CMOS to New Hart's Rules. Just like in molecular biology, I understand that tiny mistakes in writing can make all the difference (with both your meaning and how professional you come across). Whether it’s a misplaced decimal point or a misspelt word, I’ll find it. I will carefully edit your work, making sure it is not only grammatically correct and free from spelling and punctuation errors but also consistent and coherent, so that you come across as polished and professional. I'll also attend to the formatting, making sure your paragraph indents and headings are where they're supposed to be. My past projects have included fiction manuscripts, non-fiction, web content (including proofreading metadata for SEO), and scientific articles. I'm taking on self-published/independent authors of fiction or non-fiction novels, academic papers, and research theses/dissertations. I'm fast and accurate, with a degree in science and over 6 years' experience in laboratory research. I’ve been trained to work under pressure, so I won’t just catch your typos—I’ll spot the bigger mistakes and deliver results quickly. If your work is science-related, I have the savvy you need. I spent years in the lab and can make sure your scientific language is both accurate and readable. No more relying on autocorrect to handle those complex terms! If you're a fiction author, I've got you too, I got into this space as I absolutely love books, I am a voracious reader and read a wide variety of genres, sci-fi, romance, historical novels, cosy mysteries, romantasy, literary novels, you name it, I'll probably have it on my Kindle.
