Elizabeth B.

What’s wrong with your manuscript that you can no longer see? After enough rereads, every author goes blind to their own pages. I’m the fresh pair of eyes that catches what you can’t: the slow chapter, the plot hole, the inconsistent detail, the clunky sentence, the typo that survived five drafts. Then I format the finished book so it’s ready to publish on Amazon KDP. I’m a book editor helping indie and self-published authors turn finished drafts into polished, professional books, from romance novels to Christian journals and faith-based nonfiction, all while protecting your voice. I’ve been editing books since 2021. NOT SURE WE’RE A FIT? Send a 1,000-word sample for a FREE sample edit. WHAT I EDIT Developmental editing: plot, pacing, character arcs, structure, and narrative flow Line editing: sentence rhythm, tone, word choice, voice consistency, and cutting redundancy Copy editing: grammar, punctuation, spelling, and style consistency Proofreading: the final error check before you publish Continuity editing: timelines, character details, and plot consistency across a long manuscript Beta reading: honest, actionable reader feedback KDP FORMATTING Kindle and print formatting, clean interior layout, journals and workbooks, and upload-ready files. Need a cover too? I also design ebook covers. GENRES Romance (contemporary, mafia, fantasy, paranormal), women’s fiction, children’s books, Christian and faith-based books, self-help, personal development, memoir, and business. DRAFTED WITH AI? I smooth out robotic phrasing, repeated words, flat transitions, and uneven tone, so the book sounds like you. HOW IT WORKS 1. Send your genre, word count, draft stage, and deadline. 2. I do a free sample edit of up to 1,000 words. 3. You get a clear scope, quote, and timeline, with milestone payments on Upwork. 4. I edit in Microsoft Word with Track Changes and margin comments, so you approve every change. 5. For developmental edits, you also get a written report first. 6. You receive clean final files, and I’m available for follow-up questions. I work in Chicago Manual of Style (or APA for nonfiction). Your voice stays yours: I improve the writing; I don’t rewrite it.
