Grant Writing | Energy Management | Sustainability
Sustainability professional with an emphasis on building and process energy management, EV charging infrastructure, and distributed energy. My technical experience in engineering and academic research, combined with my strong communication skills, has been crucial to my success in coordinating, writing, and overseeing proposals for ESG-focused projects. I can guide you through every step of your sustainability project, and give you and excellent shot at financing it through grants that are available to support it. As a graduate research engineer at the University of Toronto, I studied the integration of renewable energy into chemical processes. I developed a strong ability to communicate highly technical information effectively, through both writing and presentations. I Ied a team of grant writers in earning over $2 million of operating funding across multiple grants, for our research group of 30+ chemists, physicists and engineers. I further worked with colleagues on pitch presentations and public awareness efforts for a spin-off company from our research. At Elexicon Group I worked with a variety of clients to secure over $20 million in funding in less than 3 years for ESG-focused projects, including a 100% success rate in securing funding through the Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP). My work focused on EV charging infrastructure, building energy retrofits, and distributed and district energy projects with clients across a variety of industries. A typically project would often include energy auditing and modeling; life cycle assessments or emissions inventories; business case development and analysis; and project management activities such as budgeting and scheduling. Through my work I achieved the Certified Energy Manager (CEM) designation from the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), and I am currently working towards LEED certification. I proactively track policy trends in sustainability across Canada, and what programs and incentives are available to support projects that will make a positive difference in the world. I am further familiar with most major building performance standards and policies, including but not limited to the Toronto Green Standard, LEED Certifications, and Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) net-zero standards.
