Barry C.
Mathematician
I have 10+ year experience in teaching and research in applied mathematics at Australian universities. My PhD and a lot of my research output is in the area of developing novel applied mathematical models for nano-scaled systems. This includes models for carbon nanotube interactions and the bending of nanoribbons. However I am a generalist modeller and have experience developing and publishing models for a diverse customer base including heat transport in industrial furnaces and the bending of sheet metal for taking earth core samples. As a teaching and research academic I also have experience in lecturing, tutoring, developing new courses, preparing and grading assignments and exams. These have mainly been in the broad area of calculus but I have also taught algebra and supervised many research projects undertaken by my students. I also have experience on the computational side of mathematics which many years of experience working as a IT professional before becoming an academic. So if you are looking at a project when you need a high level of mathematical expertise perhaps with a computational or coding side to the work then that is something that I can definitely cover.
