Public Records Research | Verified Rosters from Government Registries
I build research datasets from official government sources, including state registries, agency directories, licensing boards, public filings, and procurement records. Every row includes the source URL and retrieval date, so the file can be checked, defended, and updated. I specialize in public-sector and nonprofit market research for clients who need verified prospect lists, procurement signals, source-backed findings, and clear research briefs. Most work in this category comes from scrapers or resold databases. That means you often cannot tell a stakeholder where a number came from, and you find out the data is stale only after something bounces. My files are built to survive an audit: if a row is in the dataset, I can show where it came from and when I pulled it. What I build • Facility, agency, and institution rosters from state and federal registries • Public records and regulatory research: licensing, compliance, procurement, and agency structure • Jurisdiction and authority mapping when the decision unit is not obvious from the org chart • Structured datasets to your specifications: one row per facility, authority, jurisdiction, organization, or whatever the real unit of analysis is How I work Every project starts with a source plan. Before I begin, I identify which registries can produce the fields you need and which fields no public source can verify. That second conversation is the one that saves everyone money. If a data point is not publicly verifiable, it does not go in the file as fact. I flag the gap instead of filling it with a guess. Recent delivery Built a 72-facility roster covering state correctional institutions across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York using state DOC registries with per-row provenance. Delivered on milestone, passed client spot-check, and led to follow-on county-level facility research involving population thresholds and buying-authority mapping. Background I study Anthropology at the University of Oregon with a minor in Nonprofit Administration. Anthropological method is applied source discipline: where did this come from, who produced it, and what is it actually evidence of? That turns out to be the entire job here. What I do not do I do not scrape, and I do not resell purchased databases. If you need a hundred thousand cheap emails, I am the wrong hire. If you need three hundred rows you can defend to a compliance officer, procurement office, funder, or board, that is the work.
