Danilo L.
Game Designer & Quest Architect | PC/Indie RPGs | Live Ops & Support
I help indie and AA studios create quests, dialogue, and game documentation that are engaging for players and practical for developers to implement. My work combines narrative design, game systems, QA, and player support. I understand that a quest cannot exist only as a good story. It also needs to work with the game’s mechanics, progression, level flow, and technical limitations. With more than 4,300 hours worked on Upwork, a 100% Job Success Score, and Top Rated Plus status, I have built a strong track record of dependable communication, thoughtful work, and long-term collaboration. QUEST AND NARRATIVE DESIGN I can help you with: • Main storylines and multi-stage side quests • Branching dialogue and player choices • NPC personalities, behavioral dialogue, and ambient lines • Faction and reputation systems • Environmental storytelling, item descriptions, and world lore • Tutorials and new-player experiences • Character briefs and narrative documentation • Game Design Documents prepared for developers and level designers I work with tools such as Notion, Milanote, Google Docs, Confluence, Twine, Ink, Miro, visual flowchart software, and Unreal Engine dialogue systems. QA, LIVE OPS, AND PLAYER SUPPORT My experience supporting live games gives me a practical understanding of how players interact with quests and systems after release. I can assist with: • Player support through Zendesk, Discord, and Steam • Clear bug reports with reproduction steps and supporting evidence • Regression testing and gameplay verification • UX and gameplay feedback • Community issue triage • Turning recurring player complaints into actionable recommendations • Jira and Trello documentation HOW I WORK First, I learn about your world, gameplay systems, target audience, technical limitations, and current production stage. From there, I create structured quests, dialogue, and documentation with clear implementation logic. I remain available during development to respond to feedback from programmers, level designers, writers, and playtesters. If needed, I can also test the implemented content, review player feedback, and continue supporting the project after release. EXPERIENCE I have contributed to live PC games, including Soulbound: Online, working with questlines, tutorials, NPC dialogue, QA, and player support. I am a native Portuguese speaker, fluent in English, and conversational in Spanish. This allows me to collaborate comfortably with international teams and support multilingual communities. WAYS WE CAN WORK TOGETHER • Hourly support: $55 per hour • Quest and narrative design projects • GDD reviews and audits • Dedicated sprint or live ops support • 60-minute narrative and quest consultation: $95 If you need someone who understands both the creative and practical sides of game development, send me a message with a brief description of your game, its current stage, and what you need help with.
