I started my working life as a mining engineer in the UK and succeeded in gaining my first senior management appointment at the age of 23. As the British mining industry failed in 1984, I successfully applied for a similar position in South Africa. I have remained in this country since 1985 and have held senior operations and business development roles in mining, as well as manufacturing and information technology companies. With specific expertise in the creation of new business operations and business units and the integration of acquisitions into new parent companies I confidently build, lead and motivate management teams to deliver and exceed company targets. I have mining, manufacturing and information technology business consulting and operations experience at senior and executive levels and a successful track record in these industries. International experience includes assignments throughout Africa and in India, South America, and Russia.
