Laura V.

I’m a British expat academic editor and writer specializing in the humanities and social sciences, as well as publishing for the higher education market more broadly. I help faculty, researchers, and PhD students turn dissertations, theses, journal articles, book chapters, and full manuscripts into publication-ready work—clear, polished, and delivered on time. I provide: - Copyediting, proofreading, and developmental editing for clarity, argumentation, and style. - Formatting and citation compliance (APA, Chicago, MLA, and more). - Support navigating the full publication workflow, from draft to submission. - Guidance on public-facing writing, including op-eds, interviews, and magazine articles, drawing on my experience as Editor in Chief of a higher education magazine. Fluent in US and UK academic English, I specialize in high-stakes, culturally and politically sensitive research. My approach is precise, collaborative, and efficient—helping you reduce the mental load of revision and bring your work to its strongest form, fast. Let me help you publish confidently, on time, and to the highest standard. I'm looking forward to working with you.
