Victor M.
Geospatial Engineer | PostGIS, Web Mapping, LiDAR & Data Pipelines
I'm a survey and cartographic engineer who writes software. Through Territorial (territorial.dev), my consultancy in Brazil, I build tailor-made geospatial systems for companies whose location data has outgrown off-the-shelf GIS. People usually bring me in when: - they own large survey, imagery or sensor datasets and want a platform, portal or automated product on top of them; - a pipeline (satellite, radar, NetCDF, LiDAR, vector tiles) works on someone's laptop but not reliably in production; - a PostGIS or GeoServer stack is slow, fragile, or about to be migrated; - a 3D, point-cloud or digital-twin prototype has to become something people use every day. Some of the work I run today (clients stay unnamed): - operational meteorological pipelines for a forecasting company in Australia: radar and model data in, map products out, orchestrated with Argo Workflows on Kubernetes; - serving terabytes of high-resolution aerial imagery for a forest-monitoring company, from GDAL preprocessing to tiles in object storage; - photogrammetry and point-cloud workflows with PDAL, COPC, Potree, 3D Tiles and CesiumJS; - natural-language querying of spatial data, and MCP tool surfaces over existing GIS APIs. What you get is a senior engineer who understands your data as well as your code: spatial databases, cartography and projections, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Cloudflare, Kubernetes), and the web stack (TypeScript, React, Next.js, OpenLayers, MapLibre, Mapbox, Python, Django, FastAPI). I will tell you when the tool you asked for isn't the right one, and I document what I build so your team can own it. MEng in Spatial Information and PhD candidate at Universidade Federal de Viçosa. English and Portuguese, conversational Spanish. Based in Brasília (UTC-3), working with clients across time zones.
