Most IoT hardware products don't fail because of bad ideas. They fail because the PCB, the firmware and the RF were designed separately and nobody tested the whole thing until it was too late. At EdgeForge Labs I take hardware teams from schematic to a validated prototype. That covers KiCad schematic and layout checked for JLCPCB and PCBWay production, firmware in C/C++ for ESP32, STM32 and nRF (ESP-IDF, FreeRTOS), RF and wireless work (BLE, LTE-M, antenna tuning with a VNA, Qi wireless charging), and bring-up and testing on the bench. What I do most: - Hardware product prototypes: component selection, schematic, RF-aware layout, BOM, bring-up firmware and a test report. - Design reviews and DFM audits of an existing KiCad or Altium design before you order boards. - Industrial IoT gateways: Modbus and OPC UA to MQTT or cloud, for legacy equipment. - Edge ML (TinyML) on STM32 and ESP32 when a product needs on-device inference. How I work: - Regular progress reports during the project, so you always know where things stand. - A written report for every milestone: what was done, what was decided and why, what was calculated, what was applied, and the evidence for each. - Every milestone closes with validated functionality and suggestions for improvement. - I flag risks early and give a fixed price after a short scoping chat.
