Forward Deployed Engineer | Full-Stack + Cloud | AI Automation

I'm a full-stack engineer who works best close to the customer. I like to sit with the people using the product, understand what's actually slowing them down, and then build and ship the fix myself. Since February 2026 I've been working as a forward deployed engineer at a European RegTech company that builds a KYC and AML compliance platform for regulated financial businesses. A big part of my job is customer facing. I run product demos, gather requirements, refine them into something the team can build, and push back with a better option when the first request won't solve the real problem. When a customer hits a priority bug, I own it from the first report to the fix in production. Some of the work I've done there: - Built complete customer workflows covering sales, onboarding and KYC checks, and periodic re-reviews - Took over the Azure web application firewall and moved it from monitoring mode to fully blocking without breaking the live app - Set up automated certificate renewal and ran a large cleanup of vulnerable dependencies - Built a support pipeline that turns customer emails into tickets, escalates anything that sits too long, and uses an AI agent to post a first diagnosis on each new ticket, with references to the relevant code - Set up an AI assisted code review bot and automated fixes for security findings - Helped migrate the frontend from Laravel Livewire to Vue 3 and Quasar on a Java Spring Boot backend - Built a Playwright end to end test suite that runs against staging Before this I was an SDE-2 and Product Development Architect at Civitas Learning. There I moved a legacy vanilla JavaScript app to React, made the whole product timezone safe, and raised WCAG accessibility compliance from about 55% to 95%. I started my career as a Software Engineer at Principal Financial Group, where I led a Vue to React migration and built feature flag support in their enterprise systems. Tech I use day to day: TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Vue 3, PHP (Laravel and Symfony), Java with Spring Boot, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Azure, AWS, GitHub Actions, Docker and Playwright. I work async by default and jump on a call when it's faster. US and EU hours both work for me. If you need someone who can talk to your users and also get the code into production, send me a message.
