The transitions may not flow naturally. Or the book may simply need a stronger editorial eye to turn a collection of good ideas into a cohesive reading experience. That is where I come in. I provide developmental and line editing for self-help and leadership books helping authors strengthen their manuscript's structure, clarity, flow, voice, and overall reader experience while keeping their ideas and personality intact. I don't simply correct sentences, I look at whether the manuscript works as a complete book and whether the message reaches the reader the way you intended. I work best with authors who: * Have a completed or nearly completed self-help or leadership manuscript * Have strong ideas but need help organizing and communicating them * Want honest editorial feedback rather than surface-level corrections * Want to preserve their own voice rather than have the book rewritten in an editor's style * Are preparing a manuscript for publication For manuscripts that need deeper structural work, I can begin with an editorial assessment so you have a clear picture of what needs to be improved before committing to the full edit. What I don't specialize in I don't position myself as a general editor for every type of book. My primary focus is self-help and leadership nonfiction, particularly manuscripts that need developmental and line-level attention. Can we work together long term, or is this a one time edit? Long term is what I prefer. Most of my clients work with me across drafting, multiple revision rounds, and final formatting. Parts of my manuscript were written with AI. Can you fix that? Yes. Editing AI drafted passages back into your voice is one of the things I do most often. My draft is rough. Should I wait until it's cleaner? No. I take manuscripts at every stage, including messy first drafts. Waiting usually costs you time, not quality. Will you rewrite my book for me? My role is to strengthen your manuscript without taking over your voice. I can suggest or make targeted changes where needed, but I don't want your book to sound like it was written by someone else. If your manuscript is already structurally sound and only needs proofreading, I can advise you on whether a full developmental or line edit is actually necessary.
