My name is Beckie Sheloske and I am a New England based independent perfumer distinguished by my complex and innovative fragrance compositions. One of my signatures lies in a mastery of natural materials and my ability to showcase them with a rare sophistication in my work. My creative approach often involves leveraging a project's constraints, forcing me to find new ways to produce novel effects. Each of my creations intends to be a new olfactory experience, moving the wearer away from invoking past emotional scent memories towards the freedom to create future ones. As an independent perfumer I specialize in crafting fine fragrance products for niche, luxury and natural perfume markets. I create bespoke fragrances and do not do replicas or dupes. Over the past sixteen years I have studied and practiced the art of perfumery and now with nine years' experience designing perfume and fragrance commercially for brands. I worked exclusively with botanicals early in my career and developed a keen understanding of their complex aromatic make-up. This positioned my development as a perfumer with an advantageous perspective of aromatic chemistry when I expanded my palette to include isolated and synthetic aroma compounds. There are three major elements in my design process which are, strategy, artistry and technicality. STRATEGY When creating a perfume for consumer markets I believe that it's imperative to understand how to connect the creative brief and emotional value of the fragrance to the consumer in your target demographic. With my accumulated experience in business and commercial insight, together we take a wider scope to develop a strategy that communicates the essence of your brand and your products to your target market and its changing dynamics. ARTISTRY By being an independent perfumer, I have developed my own style and techniques when creating fragrances. That means I have specific ways of combining aromatic materials in precise proportions that create harmonious blends. Just as a painter uses color, I use aromatics. Most importantly I focus on the end result not only being pleasing to your customer but evoking the emotion set forth in the strategy that ultimately produces sales. Part of the process of fragrance development is material selection and quality. I source aromatics from trusted industry professionals with verified social and sustainability compliance. TECHNICALITY The fragrance industry comes with adhering to regulatory compliance regarding safety. Now more than ever this is very important to the consumer as a rise in safe, ton-toxic and natural personal products continues. Every fragrance I create at the minimum follows the guidelines set forth by the IFRA and FDA. I do have the ability to create fragrance with even stricter parameters for example a product that you would like to be verified by a third-party seal such as the EWG (Environmental Working Group) or Made Safe or to broader global standards like EU. I specialize in fine fragrance creation in all alcohol based concentrations ( Parfum extrait, EDP, EDT, Cologne, but can also create fragrance for other types of products such as - body, hair, linen mists & water based mists - skincare products - candles & reed diffusers, room sprays -oil and solid based perfumes In addition to design services, I can assist with: -formula review, evaluation and commercial prep - regulatory compliance for international markets, - SDS and IFRA document creation -support with onboarding to major retail channels, Tik Tok shop, Amazon and other online marketplaces - production management with contract manufacturers -labeling and packaging compliance, shipping compliance - bottle sourcing, and product descriptions and copy
