River H.

Hi, my name is River (He/She/They). I’m a beta reader, developmental and line editor, and ghostwriter specializing in romance, fantasy, science fiction, thriller, dark fiction, speculative fiction, and queer narratives. I help authors strengthen their stories at every stage, from initial outlines to publisher-ready manuscripts, without the use of AI assistance. Services offered: -Beta Reading with detailed, constructive feedback -Detailed Developmental Editing (plot, pacing, structure, character arcs) -Basic Line Editing (clarity, flow, tone, consistency) -Ghostwriting for romance, fantasy, science fiction, and more -Outlining and character development -Book reviews As a beta reader and editor, I provide well-rounded, constructive feedback designed to help you develop a manuscript readers can engage with and fully immerse themselves in. My approach balances big-picture story development with attention to clarity, pacing, and emotional impact. As a ghostwriter, I can step in at any point in the process, from outlining to drafting full chapters. You bring the ideas, and I’ll shape them into a polished, publishable reality. I self-edit thoroughly and revise as needed to ensure the final manuscript meets your expectations. Across all of my roles, I focus on clarity, cohesion, and emotional resonance. I have a dual AA in English and Communication, and am working on my BA in English Literature with a minor in Women and Ethnic Studies. I’m also currently working on my own full-length novel and offer a strong understanding of plot structure, character development, engaging tropes, and immersive worldbuilding. I work collaboratively and thoughtfully, providing feedback and manuscripts that elevate your voice to make your story reach its full potential.
