Fabiola P.
Public Health Researcher, MSPH, PhD
I examine the agricultural industry as a social determinant of Latino, immigrant, and farmworkers health. I use a mixture of qualitative and quantitative methods, including regression analysis and in-depth interviews, to answer the question of how the agriculture industry shapes population health via influence on politics, policy, and society. I have experience in advanced statistical methods (e.g., hierarchical modeling, cluster analyses, multivariate analyses), survey and measurement development, in-depth interviewing, and grounded theory. My work is informed by my experiences growing up in California’s Central Valley and in an immigrant farmworker family. I strive to contribute to the advancement of Latino health and farmworker health. You can find my research in a variety of journals including Social Science and Medicine, The International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, and the Milbank Quarterly.
