Shopify Developer | Custom Themes, Speed & Migration | DE/EN

Top Rated Shopify developer in Germany, 49 jobs and 27 client reviews on Upwork. Latest rebuild: a 323-product store moved to a new theme with no paid apps, lab performance score from 57 to 96. I work in German and English and build themes, Shopify Markets setups, B2B and performance work, mostly for brands selling into Germany, Austria and Switzerland. I build the Shopify work that most theme developers hand back: gated B2B wholesale catalogs, market specific pricing and gift logic, multilingual storefronts, and app level work on the Admin API. Where I focus 1. Custom themes built from Figma into Online Store 2.0, split into reusable sections and blocks your team can edit without me 2. B2B and wholesale: gated catalogs, approval at company level, tiered pricing, minimum order rules enforced before checkout 3. Shopify Markets: multi currency, multi language, market specific content and promotions, including the three country DACH setup with separate legal pages, VAT and local payment methods 4. Speed optimization and performance: Core Web Vitals, media replacement, script and image loading, measured before and after 5. Conversion work that is implemented, not advised: quiz and result pages, cart and product page changes, GA4 and GTM set up so tests are actually readable 6. Apps and API: I built and published Reviews Core, a Shopify app running on App Proxy and the Admin API 7. Migration: WooCommerce to Shopify with a redirect map from every old URL, so old links and search traffic keep working 8. Taking over a store: an unfinished build or a theme someone else wrote. I review what is there first, write down what is done, what is broken and what is left, and agree the remaining scope with you before I change anything. Ongoing work on a monthly plan Most of my clients keep me on a monthly retainer instead of a one off project, because the work keeps coming: a market launch, then a conversion problem, then a performance issue. On a monthly plan you get an agreed block of hours and your requests in one queue. Selected work Kiki Green. A food supplement brand built from scratch out of a Figma design: the store, the theme and the integrations, including subscriptions with tiered discounts across one, three and six month plans. White Canvas Earth. A full B2B wholesale system inside an existing store: an application page that renders different catalog states for visitors, pending applicants and approved companies, a gated wholesale catalog at 50 percent of retail, approval handled at company level, and a minimum order threshold enforced on the frontend. Elanora Skin. Ongoing retainer on a multimarket, multilingual store. Rebuilt the quiz results page as a conversion project, fixed gift logic that was breaking on international markets, replaced heavy GIF assets with MP4 and WebM including correct inline autoplay on iOS, and set up GA4 and GTM for A and B testing. Orska Rituals. Shopify redesign with customer tiers and B2B automation. Bazar Bizar. Custom theme built from a Figma redesign into Online Store 2.0, split into reusable sections, without losing the live store's existing functionality. Lineargent. SEO, conversion and performance work on a store that was already trading. Jula Bloom. WooCommerce to Shopify migration. How I work I take 20 to 25 hours a week, so I run two or three active clients at a time and I do not oversell my availability. I scope work into tickets before I start, keep every change traceable to its ticket, and I test on a duplicate theme before anything reaches your live store. If a request will not do what you expect it to do, I say so before I build it, not after. You talk to the developer who builds your store, not to an account manager. Common questions Do you take small tasks? Yes, as a fixed price fix or a few hours on a monthly plan. Hourly or fixed? Fixed price when the scope is clear, hourly or a monthly plan for ongoing work. Good fit: you already have a Shopify store, revenue and a queue of work that keeps arriving, especially if you sell into the German speaking market and would rather brief a developer in German than translate everything first. Not a fit: WordPress builds, design-only work, or marketing without development. Send me your store URL and the first thing you want fixed or built. I will reply with how I would approach it and what it would take.
