Kristina K.
Psychology & Neuroscience (Researcher/Writer/Data Analyst)
Hello! I'm Kristina, welcome to my profile! I hold a degree from the prestigious Research Master’s Program in Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience at Maastricht University, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Neuroscience. My professional profile consists of three main areas of experience: RESEARCH: * I have developed several research protocols and managed their submissions for grants and ethical approvals. * I programmed tasks in Python and MATLAB. *I tested participants using various measures, including interviews, computer tasks, EEG, ECG, skin conductance, pupil dilation, and saliva samples. *I analysed multiple datasets using different statistical models. * I helped with a systematic review. Topics I have worked on include auricular vagus nerve stimulation, post-ingestive conditioning, the physiology of the freeze response in humans, suppressed traumatic memories, and others. TEACHING & EDUCATION: * I tutor several courses in the bachelor’s programme in Psychology and the master’s programme in Neuropsychology. * I mentor master’s students. * I supervise students' research projects. * I deliver workshops focused on students’ well-being and emotion regulation techniques. * I have taught statistics, designed study materials and delivered training sessions. WRITING: * I completed a course on academic writing and scientific paper assessment. * I supervise students in writing their bachelor’s theses. * I have written several scientific papers following APA guidelines. * I also enjoy creative writing and occasionally write blogs and newspaper articles. Next, I would like to introduce myself beyond my education and experience by highlighting three words that I believe describe my personality: AMBITION I am driven by passion. It is incredibly important to me to see that the work I do has value. My intrinsic motivation to contribute to meaningful projects, the feeling of fulfilment, and fascination for human behaviour, help me deliver high-quality work. CREATIVITY Despite my scientific background, I am a very creative person. My hobbies outside of work include dancing (I hold a certificate as a Dance Alchemy Facilitator) and creative writing. This creativity often translates to my professional work, allowing me to find innovative solutions, think outside the box, and bring originality to everything I do. POSITIVE WORK ATTITUDE I care about my professional development and am willing to go the extra mile to achieve my goals. When I commit to something, I work hard. I consider myself stress-resilient, and my strong time-management skills help me maintain a healthy relationship with my work. At the same time, I am aware of my limits and communicate them openly when necessary.
