They are structural, and they surface as a rejection: bleed miscalculated on a full-page image, a spine width that does not match the final page count, fonts that were never embedded, fake bold instead of a real bold weight, a table of contents that is not clickable, headings with no semantic structure so the Kindle navigation goes nowhere, page number cross-references left inside a file that reflows. I build the interior so those failures never reach the previewer. Yes, and this is most of my work. A print page is fixed and an ebook reflows, so the same manuscript has to become both without the styling decisions falling apart between them.
