Hi! I'm Joshua, a gameplay programmer for Unreal Engine 5 and Unity. I build gameplay systems, UI and editor tools, and I'm great at jumping into an existing project, even one with no documentation, and fixing what's broken. What I can help with: • Gameplay systems: combat, targeting, movement and traversal, enemy AI • UI: HUDs, inventory and loot screens, tooltips and menus • Editor tools that speed up repetitive setup work • Finding and fixing bugs in existing Unreal or Unity projects • Mobile game mechanics in Unity, built quickly from scratch Recent work: • UE5 MMO game client (6 months, C++ and Blueprints, using the Atavism client plugin): built targeting, click-to-move, a loot system rework, tooltips and editor tools, and fixed bugs across nearly every part of the client • Mobile ad studio (Unity, Luna Playworks): built game mechanics from scratch for playable and video ads of games like Mob Control, usually in 3 to 5 days each • Team games (UE5 and Unity): lead or solo programmer on action combat, enemy AI, movement and traversal, and data-driven dialogue, and project manager for three of those teams I'm a skilled debugger, and I focus on building scalable systems with easy-to-maintain architecture. If a client allows it, I also use AI coding tools like Codex with Unreal MCP where they speed things up, and I check and debug what they produce.
