Bernard J.

Professional Screenwriter & Fiction Writer I write character-driven stories across fiction and film — speculative fiction, supernatural fantasy, psychological thriller, detective noir, science fiction, and satire. My work is built on a simple principle: every scene must earn its place, every character must come alive when read aloud, and every story must leave the audience not wanting to leave the world you've built them. My background includes a degree in philosophy, classics, and psychology, formal creative writing training at the University of Toronto and Yale, and a decade of professional writing experience across fiction, screenwriting, and long-form essays. I currently write for an animated YouTube channel with 26 million subscribers My approach to screenwriting is visual and architectural. I outline before I write, but treat the outline as a living document — updated daily as the story deepens and reveals itself. I write detailed camera direction, sound, and music into my scripts because I believe a strong script doesn't leave any part of the experience to chance. I bring the discipline of a serious literary writer and the instincts of a natural storyteller to every project. I'm available for episodic television scripts, feature film scripts, original series development, and fiction writing. I'm equally comfortable originating new work and writing within established worlds and existing lore.
