Basem M.

Senior Software Engineer with 6+ years building conversion-focused e-commerce platforms for global brands - Mars (M&M's), ZEISS Group and DEPOT. I work across the full stack: React/Next.js front ends, Node.js services and GraphQL/REST APIs, down to the data layer. Most recently I built and maintained the M&M's direct-to-consumer storefront on a composable-commerce stack (Next.js, GraphQL BFF, commercetools) for US and EU markets - leading express checkout across Google Pay, Apple Pay and PayPal, extending GraphQL schemas and BFF resolvers to ship product personalization end to end, and fixing revenue-critical production issues in tax, cart and gift-card flows. Every change on that store was measured against conversion, so I care deeply about experimentation and clean analytics (GA4 e-commerce, GTM). What I bring: - Frontend: React, Next.js (App Router, SSR/ISR), TypeScript, Redux Toolkit, Tailwind, design systems - Backend: Node.js, REST and GraphQL APIs, Next.js server endpoints, BFF layers - Data: SQL and schema design (Postgres/Supabase), commerce data models (commercetools, SCAYLE) - E-commerce: checkout, payments (Adyen, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal), headless storefronts, CMS integration - Quality & delivery: Jest, Cypress, Docker, GitHub Actions, Sentry, Core Web Vitals - AI-assisted development: I use Claude, Claude Code, Cursor and ChatGPT daily to ship faster without cutting corners on review and tests I have worked remotely with distributed teams across Europe and the US for four years, so async communication and clear ownership are second nature.
