Rebecca A.

Your book deserves an editor who cares about it as much as you do. I'm a Top Rated book editor specializing in romance and commercial fiction, with extensive experience in memoir and nonfiction. I help authors take a manuscript from rough draft to a polished, publication-ready book. Whether you need developmental editing, line editing, copy editing, a continuity review, a beta read, or professional ebook and print formatting for Amazon KDP, I can meet your project wherever it is. I also ghostwrite select fiction and nonfiction projects, including lead magnets, novellas, and shorter books. Romance is one of my specialties. From clean and sweet to contemporary, historical, romantic suspense, billionaire, mafia, enemies-to-lovers, and high-heat stories, I understand what romance readers expect. If your dual POV needs balancing, your emotional pacing needs tightening, or your chemistry and heat level need better alignment with your audience's expectations, I'll help strengthen those elements without ever flattening your voice. And if you're deep into a series and worried that book seven contradicts something from book two, that is exactly the kind of problem I love solving. I also genuinely love working with memoir and nonfiction authors. Whether you are telling a deeply personal story, sharing your expertise, or building a book around an important message, I can help shape your material with clarity, structure, and emotional impact. Your story and ideas stay yours. My job is to make them clearer, stronger, and more compelling for the reader. Behind every project is nearly a decade of publishing house experience across the full editorial process, and I bring that same standard to your work: honest feedback when the manuscript needs stronger structure, careful line and copy editing when the pages need polish, and clean, publication-ready files in Vellum or Atticus when you are ready to publish. Many of my authors stay with me from the first read through the final files. A recent client who had previously hired eight editors for four published novels shared: "You have done more fine-combing and taught me more than any of the eight editors I hired for my previous four novels, including well-known award-winning writers and professors of creative writing. Besides uncovering inconsistencies and mistakes no one else would have, you took the time to know my characters, understand their motives, and understand my aim in writing this story." If you want an editor and ghostwriter who will protect your voice, tell you the truth about what your project needs, and care deeply about getting it right, send me a message. I'd love to hear about your project.
