Apparel Product Development Specialist | Turning ideas into Products
Apparel Product Development Specialist | Turning Designs into Production-Ready Products I help fashion brands turn creative ideas into products that factories can actually understand, sample and produce. With 10 years of apparel product development experience on the manufacturing side, I have worked between designers, clients, pattern makers, sample rooms, QA teams and production factories — developing products for brands including Nike, Patagonia and Lacoste. So if you already have a design but need someone to answer: “How do we actually make this?” That is where I come in. Many designers can create beautiful concepts. Many sourcing agents can find factories. My role sits in between — I bridge design and manufacturing. I can review your design, identify technical issues, develop the construction, communicate with factories, manage samples and turn the final product into clear production documentation. What I can help you with + Product Development — develop and refine designs from concept to production + Technical Design — technical flats, construction details and garment specifications + Production-Ready Tech Packs — BOM, POM/spec sheets, grading, materials, trims, labels and production notes + Factory Communication — translate design intent into practical technical requirements + Sample Development — review samples, identify issues and consolidate revisions + Product Improvement — fabric, construction, trims, hardware and finishing upgrades + Technical Problem-Solving — fit, pattern, construction and manufacturing issues + Print & Embellishment Development — engineered prints, embroidery and complex panel placement My manufacturing advantage: Spending 10 years working within apparel manufacturing, including with a company operating production facilities across Vietnam and Malaysia. International Experience: Collaborated across Asia, Europe and the US, including Hong Kong, Shanghai, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, France and the USA. Product categories: Sportswear · Performance · Lifestyle · Outerwear · Kidswear · Womenswear · Menswear Materials: Woven · Knit · Performance fabrics Construction: Seam sealing · Laser bonding · Quilting · Embroidery · Digital printing · Engineered prints · Complex garment construction . Corset . Tailoring This means I don't create specifications simply because they look technically correct on paper. I consider whether they are realistic for a factory to execute, sample and produce consistently. How I typically work : I review the concept, develop the technical specifications, work with the factory through sampling, refine the product based on fit and quality, and ensure all key details are ready for bulk production. If you already have a design, sketch, reference image or existing tech pack, send it to me. I'll tell you what I would improve, what information is missing, and what the factory will need to develop it properly. Let's turn the idea into a product.
