Quick version: I'm Nolan 👋, a retention marketer and subscription growth specialist for Shopify brands. I work in Klaviyo, Attentive, Postscript, Alia Pop-Ups, and all major subscription apps. My work has generated over $1 million for my clients. I've personally sent thousands of email & SMS campaigns, built and managed loyalty & referral programs, and advised on subscription growth and retention for multiple Shopify brands. ——— Long Version: My eCommerce story started 10 years ago when I launched my first Shopify brand as a high schooler. I thought I knew everything after reading a couple of books. I quickly realized I had LOTS to learn, haha! After high school, I studied Marketing & Wealth Management at Ithaca College, graduating in three years with Magna Cum Laude honors. While in school, I launched a private label nootropics brand and ran a newsletter sponsored by Neuro Gum. After graduation, I joined a large logistics company serving hundreds of top DTC brands worldwide. I still think about standing inside Ariat's 1-million-square-foot warehouse in Fort Worth, Texas, watching robots autonomously ship thousands of orders every single hour. That experience gave me a rare look at how the best brands in the world actually operate at scale. Since then, I've worked directly with Shopify brands across supplements, coffee, clothing, meal kits, and even fall prevention equipment for the elderly. Through all of it, one thing became obvious: subscription brands have a completely unique set of challenges that generic retention marketers aren't equipped to solve. So I went deep and never looked back. Today I'm hands-on in Klaviyo every day, covering retention strategy, deliverability, segmentation, list growth, email and SMS campaigns, automated flows, and more. I design in Figma and Canva, build campaign calendars with a heavy focus on non-discount campaigns, run QA, and schedule everything soup to nuts. I also work inside Alia Pop-Ups to build, test, and optimize signup forms, including offer strategy, flow mapping, Klaviyo integration, and matching welcome series for both email and SMS. On the subscription side, I work with all major subscription apps including Recharge, Stay AI, Skio, Bold, and Seal. My work goes well beyond just the email side of things. I advise on and implement full subscriber acquisition strategies, product page optimization for subscription conversion, churn reduction strategies, revenue expansion through ARPU growth, and subscriber referral programs. I help subscription brands grow through my proprietary 4-lever system: increasing new subscribers, decreasing churn, growing Average Revenue Per Subscriber, and driving subscriber-to-subscriber referrals.
