Anthony C.
Embedded Firmware Engineer | STM32, ESP32, Bootloaders, IoT & BLE
I'm an electrical engineer with 10 years of experience building and fixing embedded firmware for production hardware. I work in C and C++ on STM32, ESP32, Microchip, Atmel, and other ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers, on both bare-metal and RTOS systems including FreeRTOS and Zephyr. Clients usually bring me in for one of these: • Firmware bugs that are hard to pin down: lockups, timing problems, data glitches, communication failures • Bootloaders and field firmware updates (OTA) that can't brick a device • Adding features or porting firmware to new hardware without breaking what works • Connected devices: BLE, Wi-Fi, cellular, GPS, and MQTT • Sensor integration, calibration, and board bring-up • Design reviews and taking over inherited or stalled projects Because I'm an electrical engineer, I debug at the boundary between hardware and firmware with a scope, logic analyzer, and debugger, so I can tell whether a problem is in the code, the configuration, or the board. I've shipped a cellular and GPS device end to end, built field-update systems for products already deployed, and led the modernization of a large legacy firmware codebase. I communicate clearly, document what I change, and work fluently in both English and Spanish.
