Malwina W.
Language Educator & Creative Pedagogue | Institutional Projects
🔸 Hi, I’m Malwina Wojciechowska - language educator, researcher, and creative pedagogue working at the intersection of language, cognition, identity, and inclusive education. With roots in Poland and over 13 years of professional experience in Portugal, I design learning experiences that combine academic rigor with empathy, creativity, and real human connection. 🔸 I work across higher education, research, and freelance practice, supporting learners and institutions in developing clear communication, critical thinking, intercultural competence, and soft skills essential for today’s multilingual and complex world. 🔸 What do I actually do? ✔️ I design and teach innovative language and communication courses grounded in active learning, ✔️ I integrate theatrical techniques, design thinking, and creative pedagogy into education and training, ✔️ I research multilingualism, translanguaging, and inclusive pedagogy in higher education, ✔️ I work as a freelance language instructor and consultant, ✔️ I create arts-based and reflective workshops that foster confidence, inclusion, and personal growth. 🔸 Who do I work with? ✔️ Children and teenagers – supporting language development, confidence, and expression, ✔️ University students and academics – academic English, public speaking, writing, and soft skills, ✔️ Business professionals and international teams – professional English, presentations, interviews, and leadership communication, ✔️ Institutions and organizations – tailor-made courses, workshops, and inclusion-focused projects. I’m open to collaborations with universities, schools, cultural institutions, research projects, NGOs, and companies seeking innovative, people-centered learning solutions. 🔸 Where do I work and teach? ✔️ Lecturer at Iscte – University Institute of Lisbon, within the LCT Soft Skills Lab and LIA – Labs for Academic Innovation, ✔️ Courses include Academic English, English for PALOP students, Business English, Public Speaking with Theatrical Techniques, Introduction to Design Thinking, and Conflict Management, ✔️ Research Assistant at CIES-Iscte and contributor to IN-Iscte, developing original courses and inclusion-focused art and language workshops. Alongside my institutional roles, I maintain a strong freelance practice, working with professionals from fields such as finance, psychology, hospitality, technology, academia, and international business. 🔸 Research & academic profile ✔️ PhD candidate in Language Teaching at NOVA University of Lisbon, ✔️ My research examines translanguaging as a pedagogical approach that enhances cognitive engagement, identity formation, intercultural learning, and epistemic justice, ✔️ I explore how leveraging learners’ full linguistic repertoires can transform classrooms into spaces of deeper learning and inclusion, ✔️ I have published and presented internationally on active learning, soft skills, creative pedagogy, multilingual education, and inclusive teaching practices. My work bridges cognitive science, sociolinguistics, and educational theory, with a strong focus on practical application. 🔸 Beyond language and academia ✔️ I’m a painter and certified art therapy practitioner, ✔️ I lead creative and reflective workshops and have held solo and collective exhibitions, ✔️ I use art as a tool for connection, expression, and transformation, integrating it naturally into my teaching and facilitation. 🔸 My strongest assets ✔️ Bridging theory and practice with clarity and creativity, ✔️ A deeply people-centered, empathetic approach, ✔️ Expertise in active learning, public speaking, soft skills, and intercultural communication, ✔️ Ability to translate complex ideas into engaging, accessible experiences, ✔️ Creativity as a method, not an add-on. 🔸 In every space I work in - classroom, workshop, research project, or studio - I aim to create environments where people feel seen, heard, challenged, and empowered. I believe education is not just about knowledge transfer, but about agency, inclusion, and transformation.
