Understand the manuscript I first consider your genre, target audience, publishing goals, writing style, and the level of editing your manuscript actually needs. 2. Identify what is working and what isn't I look for structural weaknesses, confusing passages, pacing problems, repetition, inconsistent characterization, weak transitions, dialogue issues, plot gaps, and anything that could interrupt the reader's experience. 3. Edit with purpose I make thoughtful changes that improve clarity, flow, readability, consistency, and storytelling without unnecessarily rewriting your work or imposing my own writing style. 4. Explain significant suggestions For developmental or substantial changes, I use comments and feedback to explain the issue and give you a clear direction for revision. 5. Deliver transparent edits I work in Microsoft Word with Track Changes and comments, so you can see what has been changed, review my suggestions, and remain in control of every final decision. 6.
