Fractional CFO & Full-Cycle Accounting | 15+ Years Experience

15 years in accounting and finance. Public accounting audit at Squar Milner, then Live Nation under SOX, then four years as CFO/Controller of an 11-entity, $110M consumer products company in Irvine. Consolidations across all 11 entities, GAAP and IFRS audits with clean opinions every year, a 5-business-day close, and a full ERP migration from QuickBooks to Sage without missing a monthly report. Master of Accountancy. Now I take on a limited number of contract engagements: cleanups, reconstructions, forensic reviews, and monthly close ownership for founder-led companies. How I work is simple. I tie the books to source documents, not to what the last bookkeeper categorized. Processor settlements reconciled to gross activity. Balance sheet accounts supported, not plugged. Every correction documented with a trail your CPA or an auditor can follow without calling me. Recent work: Forensic review, three-entity group. Traced fund flows across six channels against bank records and source documents. Found $1.4M in misappropriated partner funds that had been moving for years through books everyone thought were fine. My workbook now anchors counsel's litigation strategy. Full-year rebuild, remodeling contractor. No opening balances, undocumented debt, no controls. Rebuilt the year from bank statements and source documents. Four months later: every account reconciled monthly, every loan documented, and the company went from a negative cash balance to a $50K operating reserve. Revenue reconstruction, medical practice. $1.3M scattered across three disconnected systems with books built backward from deposits. Reconstructed the full chain from source system to bank and rebuilt the monthly reconciliation so it ties every period. Multi-state exposure analysis. 50-state sales tax nexus study across 82,000 plus e-commerce transactions for a foreign-owned group where I served as US control person through wind-down. Scope I take on: forensic review and cleanup, monthly close ownership, multi-entity consolidation and intercompany work, cash management and 13-week forecasting, audit preparation, sales tax exposure analysis, and system migrations (QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Sage Intacct, Sage, NetSuite). Terms: fixed-price diagnostics on cleanups and reviews, so you know the cost before committing. Hourly or monthly retainer for ongoing work. 20 to 30 hours a week available, small client count, you work with me directly. US-based, California. If the books don't tie to the sources, that's the problem I solve.
