Elizabeth T.
Book Editor | Developmental Editor for Fiction, Memoir & Romance
Most writers don't need someone to tell them their manuscript has grammar mistakes. They already know it's not perfect. What they're struggling with is figuring out why a chapter feels slow, why readers lose interest halfway through, why a character's emotional arc isn't landing, or why a story they've spent months or years writing still doesn't feel as powerful on the page as it does in their head. That's where I come in. I'm a Book Editor and Developmental Editor specializing in fiction, memoir, and romance. I help authors shape manuscripts into books that feel clear, engaging, emotionally resonant, and ready for readers. Some projects need deep developmental work. Others need a careful line edit, manuscript assessment, copy edit, or final proofread. Every manuscript is different, so I don't approach editing with a checklist or a one-size-fits-all process. I start by understanding what you're trying to achieve. Who is this book for? What experience do you want readers to have? What kind of story are you trying to tell? Once I understand that, I can identify what's helping the manuscript move toward that goal and what's standing in the way. For fiction and romance authors, that often means strengthening story structure, pacing, character development, dialogue, emotional tension, and reader engagement. For memoir writers, it often means organizing material, improving narrative flow, clarifying key moments, and helping the story remain authentic while becoming easier for readers to follow. What matters most to me is preserving your voice. I don't want your manuscript to sound like it was written by an editor. I want it to sound like the strongest version of you. My role isn't to take over the story. It's to help you see it more clearly, identify what's working, uncover what's not, and provide practical editorial feedback that helps move the manuscript forward. My services include: • Developmental Editing • Manuscript Assessment • Editorial Feedback • Line Editing • Copy Editing • Proofreading • Story Structure & Pacing Analysis • Character Development • Dialogue & Reader Engagement Review • Fiction Editing • Memoir Editing • Romance Editing • Microsoft Word Track Changes & Google Docs Suggestions You'll receive thoughtful, honest feedback, clear revision recommendations, and edits that strengthen your manuscript while respecting the vision behind it. Whether you're working on your first book or your fifth, my goal is simple: to help you create a manuscript that readers won't want to put down. If you're looking for honest editorial feedback, a fresh professional perspective, and clear guidance on what your manuscript needs next, send me a message or invite today. Tell me a little about your book, your genre, your word count, and where you are in the writing or publishing process. I'll personally review the details and let you know the best way I can help strengthen your manuscript. I'm currently available and actively taking on new editing projects, so if you'd like to discuss your book, now is a great time to reach out. Every manuscript has strengths. The key is identifying what's holding it back and knowing how to fix it. Send me a message or invite, and let's talk about your book.
