Hi, My name is Sarajane Mary Ward; (Sj) and I am a Certified Medical Coder & Billing Specialist and also experienced in health insurance verification and pre-authorizations. With over 20yrs of experience in Healthcare Insurance Verification and Claims Correction, along with many other Healthcare Admin related experience. In My time with BCBS of Florida, along with working in their call center for verifying benefits, coverage for both various providers as well as policyholders/patients;(before ACA ever existed) My other duties included, correcting CPT and HCPCS codes from providers submitted claims(as many were outdated) as well as receiving and abstracting medical records, prog notes and the like to resubmit claims for to prove medical necessity. In My recent return to the healthcare industry, I have worked with a rural hospital and two private medical practices and have experience with MEDITECH and navigating various insurance portals including WPS, Availity, Optum and others. Extensive experience with working with HMO, PPO and Medicaid in Florida and now Massachusetts. In addition My skills working in E-Clincal works, MEDITECH ER, some EPIC and Expanse, (just recently working in TherapyNotes) and other related PM software are strong. After My recent certification with NHA , I am a Ceritifed Medical Coder & Biller and am quickly advancing into selecting My speciality and pursuing a Bachelors in advanced coding specialities and clinical health admin. My attention to details and accuracy in these things is strong and My ability to learn new skills with a provider's clinic of any kind including specialty providers is quick, strong and proven.
