I work on the engineering decisions that determine whether a product can move from concept to production with predictable performance and manufacturing risk. My work usually begins before detailed CAD. I review the mechanical architecture, load paths, mechanism layout, assembly strategy, material selection, and manufacturing process to identify issues that are easier and less expensive to resolve early in development. My background includes more than 20 years in mechanical product development, precision manufacturing, tooling, and production. I have worked on consumer products, aluminum and plastic enclosures, sheet metal assemblies, mechanisms, bicycle frames, production tooling, and manufacturing equipment. Depending on the project, I can support: • Mechanical architecture and mechanism development • Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) • Injection molding, sheet metal, machining, casting, and tooling considerations • Structural layout, load-path evaluation, and design refinement • Prototype development and production readiness • Production drawings, BOMs, tolerance review, and assembly documentation I do not treat CAD as the final objective. The goal is to develop a mechanical solution that can be manufactured, assembled, tested, and maintained with confidence.
